Bowlers are doing wonderful job: Shaw

DUBAI: Delhi Capitals opening batsman Prithvi Shaw feels that bowlers are doing a "wonderful job" for the side in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Before the match against RCB on Monday, Delhi Capitals were given a big blow as spinner Amit Mishra was ruled out of the tournament due to a finger injury. In place of Mishra, Axar Patel was given a chance against the Virat Kohli-led side, and the spinner returned with the figures of 2-18 from his four overs. Delhi Capitals defeated RCB by 59 runs on the back of a brilliant performance by bowlers. Bowlers restricted RCB to a paltry 137 in the allotted 20 overs. No batsmen got going for RCB and only Kohli got among the runs as he played a knock of 43.

Leg-spinners are flavour of all seasons

NEW DELHI: A look at the statistics of the previous IPL seasons show that two of the top three all-time wicket-takers are leg-spinners. So, it should not come as a surprise that leggies have become the most trusted lot in T20 format and IPL in particular. Some of the key bowlers in various teams are leg-spinners, and going by the early trend, they haven't disappointed at all. Yuzvendra Chahal, who had a rare bad game on Monday night when he went wicketless and conceded 29 runs in three overs against Delhi, is number two in the list of top wicket-takers, behind Kagiso Rabada, right now. He has eight wickets in five games.

Ponting terms Rabada one of the best

DUBAI: Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting praised team's Kagiso Rabada saying that the South African pacer is "one of the best T20 bowlers in the world". Rabada put out an impressive show during Delhi Capitals' 59-run win against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday. The pacer picked four wickets to help his side defend a target of 197 runs.
