OPEC cautiously optimistic due to ‘anaemic’ recovery
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries remains "cautiously optimistic" about recovery in global oil demand, which has so far been "anaemic" due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is taking longer than earlier anticipated, the cartel's Secretary General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo said. "We were hopeful the second half of 2020 would begin to see a recovery ... Unfortunately, both the economic growth and demand recovery remain anaemic at the moment due to the virus," Barkindo said at India Energy Forum.
