Amara Raja July-September net profit falls 8% on year, sales rise 14% Savita Oil July-September net profit rises 50.4% on year, sales down 11%

Amara Raja Batteries Ltd's net profit for the September quarter fell 8% year-on-year to 2 bln rupees, even as revenue rose 14% to 19.36 bln rupees. Sequential­ly, the net profit trebled while revenue surged 68%. The net profit and net sales topped analysts' estimates of 1.6 bln rupees and 17.3 bln rupees, respective­ly.

Savita Oil Technologi­es Ltd's net profit for the September quarter jumped 50.4% on year to 376.2 mln rupees. Total revenue from operations for the quarter fell 11.2% to 4.81 bln rupees. Sequential­ly, the net profit rose over threefold and total revenue was up 83.1%. The company's other income rose to 79.37 mln rupees from 21.32 mln rupees a year ago.
