The decomposed bodies of a woman and her three children were found hanging from a tree in an isolated place in Bhiwandi on Thursday. The woman's husband attempted suicide after the decomposed bodies of his wife and children were found in the forest. He is now undergoing medical treatment at Indira Gandhi hospital in Bhiwandi.

According to the police, a missing complaint of both the mother and the children was lodged two months ago.

"The bodies of a woman and her three children were found hanging from a tree in a jungle near Umbarkhand village of Bhiwandi. The deceased were identified as Ranjana Bangri (30), her daughters Darshana Bangri (12), Rohini Bangri (6) and son Rohit Bangri. The woman's husband, Sripat Bangri, attempted suicide by consuming poison and has been admitted to the hospital," said police official from Bhiwandi.

The bodies were spotted by the locals on Thursday afternoon. A case has been registered at the Padgha police station in Bhiwandi.

"The bodies were first spotted by one of the relatives of the deceased, who informed the father. Bangri identified the bodies on the basis of their clothes and was shocked after seeing his wife and children in the that condition," informed police.

"Following the police complaint, the team of police reached the spot for investigat­ion. As per the forensic lab report, the bodies were already decomposed when recovered from the spot. The report said that they were dead two months ago," said police official.

Police said the case is being probed from various angles, including suicide or homicide, especially after it emerged that Bangri had reportedly got married after his wife Ranjana and their kids went missing.
