TCS market cap crosses Rs 12 L cr milestone

The mar ket valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) cr ossed Rs 12 lakh crore-mark at close of trade on Thursday, helped by a rally in its share price.

TCS topped the g ainers' chart on Sensex, ri sing 2.89 per cent to close at Rs 3,250.15 on the BSE. During the day, it jumped 3.42 per cent t oa record high of Rs 3,267.

Following the rally in stock price, t he company's market valuation jumped to Rs 12,19,581.32 cr ore a t c lose of trade on the BSE.

TCS is the second domestic firm after R eliance Industries Limited to ac hieve the milestone of cr ossing Rs 12 lakh cr ore i n mar ket v aluation.

On Monday, the compan y's market v aluation had risen to Rs 12,09,768 cr ore during the mor ning trade on the BSE.

TCS is the second most valuable domestic fir m in terms of mar ket ca pitalisation.

RIL i s the country's most valuable fir m wit h a mar ket valuation of Rs 12,42,91 0.75 crore. TCS had on Friday reported a 7.2 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 8,701 crore for December 2020 quarter.
