Plea in HC to set aside court order over market value of Rushdie’s assets

NEW DELHI: A plea has been filed in the Delhi High Court on Thursday that urges the setting aside of the singlejudg­e bench order which estimated Booker Prize-winning author Salman Rushdie's ancestral property market value at Rs 130 crore. As per the single bench Delhi HC order dated December 24, 2019, the estimated market price of property ad-measuring 5373 square yards in Civil lines, which is the ancestral property of Booker Prize-winning author Salman Rushdie, is Rs 130 crore. A Division Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli adjourned the matter for further hearing in April. The petitioner was represente­d by Dushyant Dave.
