Women hockey focuses on PC conversion SAI to rope in Olympians as coaches

BUENOS AIRES: Gearing up for its first internatio­nal assignment in almost a year, drag-flicker Gurjit Kaur on Thursday said the Indian women hockey team is paying more attention to penalty corner (PC) conversion and against formidable Argentina. The Indian team will begin the eight-match tour against the world number two side on Sunday.

NEW DELHI: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has decided to employ Olympians and Paralympia­ns as coaches and assistant coaches at its various National Centers of Excellence (NCOEs) in an attempt to recognise the achievemen­ts of country's sporting heroes. The employment process, already underway, creates vacancies for 23 assistant coaches and four coaches.
