Dakar Rally motorcycli­st dies after crash Ridhima make winning start in 2021 Lahiri makes modest start in Hawaii

A Dakar Rally racer who was badly injured after crashing his motorbike has died aboard a medical flight from Saudi Arabia to France, race organizers said Friday. Pierre Cherpin died while being transporte­d from Jeddah to Lille on Thursday night, four days after his crash during the seventh stage from Ha'il to Sakaka. The 52-year-old Frenchman was found unconsciou­s after the crash.

BENGALURU: Ridhima Dilawari carded a third straight under par round to complete a start-to-finish to win in the first leg of the Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour 2021 here on Friday. Ridhima brought home a card of one-under 71 five-short win over Pranavi Urs (70).

HONOLULU (Hawaii): Anirban Lahiri with a modest one-under 69 to be placed tied 72nd after the first round of the Sony Open here. Starting on the back nine, Lahiri began his seventh year on the PGA Tour, with two birdies on 12th and 18th and one bogey in between on 16th. He missed a lot of birdie chances throughout the day and on his second nine, his hitting was also not as good as expected.
