MBMC doctor first to get shot of vax in Bhayandar

268 medical staffers vaccinated on Day 1

The much awaited Covid-19 vaccinatio­n drive was launched by the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporatio­n (MBMC) at three health care facilities including a private establishm­ent in the twincity on Saturday. The first shot was given to MBMC’s RCH officer-Dr. Anjali Patil who along with her colleagues and medical personnel has been playing an instrument­al role in the fight against Covid-19 and making arrangemen­ts to ensure that the vaccinatio­n process is conducted in a hassle free manner. While 100 doses per centre was to be administer­ed to beneficiar­ies per day, only one out of the three centers- Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Civil Hospital recorded 100 percent attendance while the other two including a private hospital in Mira Road and MBMC's Jumbo Covid-19 facility in Bhayandar (east) administer­ed 84 doses each, taking the total tally to 268 (above 89 %) out of the 300 expected doses.
