Zango sets new indoor world record Shakib set to return to Int’l cricket Sheoran sweeps men's trap trials

AUBIERE (France): World bronze medallist Hugues Fabrice Zango produced the first standout athletics moment of the year by sailing to a world indoor triple jump record of 18.07 metres here on Saturday (16). The record is subject to the usual ratificati­on procedure. The 27-year-old athlete added 15 centimetre­s to the previous record, set by his coach Teddy Tamgho in 2011.

DHAKA: Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to return to internatio­nal cricket after serving a year-long ban for not reporting a corrupt approach as he was included in Bangladesh's 18-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against the West Indies beginning here next week.

NEW DELHI: Asian Games silver medallist Lakshay Sheoran of Haryana made it a clean sweep in the men's trap trials, winning the T2 competitio­n on the back of a T1 trial win, while talented youngsters Sarabjot Singh and Rhythm Sangwan made it a double for the state in the 10 metres air pistol trials here on Saturday. Lakshay shot a solid 122-point tally to top qualifying.
