Reserve Bank aims to keep Rs 6.5-7 lakh crore liquidity surplus
The Reserve Bank of India is committed to keep liquidity in the banking system at a surplus of around 6.5-7.0 trln rupees even as it continues to hold fortnightly variable rate reverse repos of around 2 trln rupees, a banking industr y source said. "The RBI's commitment on liquidity remains unchanged despite the shif t to fortnightly variable rate reverse repo," the source told Cogencis. The central bank, earlier this month, had said it aims return to the liquidity management framework adopted in February 2020.
