Journalism in peril
Ref.: ‘Corrupt & corroded - the fourth pillar of Democracy is now cancerous’ (January 18). Harini Calamur has raised an important question. If this pillar falls, the consequences would be scary. The media across the world should be taking its role seriously, as the report cites the media in the USA and UK, for instance, stir ring up issues in their countries. However, all does not seem to be lost as yet. The media needs to have the courage of its convictions. It must break free from the shackles hampering its inte g rity. It needs to wake up now - the future of jour nalism is at stake!
