IAS officer’s brother found dead in UP

Ankur Agarwal, brother of a senior IAS officer Lav Agarwal, who is posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family welfare, was found dead under mysterious circumstan­ces in his home town Saharanpur on Monday.

The Saharanpur Police said that Ankur Agarwal's bullet-ridden body was found at Pilkhani area in the district. His licensed revolver was also recovered from the spot. The police have sent the body for the post mortem and informed his brother and family members.

Police have so far issued no official statement about the mysterious death of the senior bureaucrat's brother.

Officials claimed that prima facie it looks like a suicide case but they will issue a statement only after post mortem report and investigat­ion.

Sources claimed that Ankur was under depression and had attempted suicide earlier also. His father KG Agarwal is a CA and brother Lav Agarwal is a 1996 batch IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre.

Family members of the deceased have so far issued no statement.
