‘BJP spreading violence in TMC’s disguise’

The Trinamool Congress held a peace rally from Tollygunge to Rashbehari in South Kolkata, the same place which witnessed violence on Monday during Suvendu Adhikari’s road show. This area is considered to be the stronghold of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee which both the TMC and the BJP claim to win over in the upcoming Assembly polls. Referring to Monday’s violence on BJP’s rally, West Bengal power minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay said that just to malign TMC BJP is attacking their own rallies.

“Everywhere the BJP claims that TMC is playing violent politics but the truth is they disguise them as TMC cadres just to malign us. The outsiders don’t know the culture of West Bengal as they distort the history and peace of the state,” said Chattopadhyay. Addressing the gathering TMC MP Mala Roy termed BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari as ‘backstabber’ and said those who got their identity from the Trinamool Congress is now maligning the TMC just for their own gains and also that the defected leaders are thinking of votebank politics and not for the benefit of the common citizen of West Bengal.
