Tata Steel BSL back in black NEW DELHI:

Tata Steel BSL Ltd posted a consolidated net profit of 9.13 bln rupees in Oct-Dec, compared with a 5.02-bln-rupee loss a year ago.

Total revenue from operations for the quarter rose 16.7% to 58.81 bln rupees. Sequentially, the net profit rose over twofold and revenue rose 6.6%. The company's other income rose to 249.8 mln rupees from 153.2 mln rupees year ago.

In Oct-Dec, total expenditure, including finance cost, was at 49.93 bln rupees compared with 55.55 bln rupees a year ago.

Finance cost was lower at 3.61 bln rupees from 4.22 bln rupees a year ago.
