Cong turns the heat in Chatgate

-

A day after former Congress president Rahul Gandhi hit out at Republic TV boss Arnab Goswami for putting the national security at serious risk, the Congress on Wednesday lined up former defence minister AK Antony and 3 senior party leaders to keep a heat on what they dubbed as the "Arnab Chat Gate," asserting that leaking classified information is a clear act of "treason."

At a joint press conference addressed by Antony, former home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, former law minister Salman Khurshid and Rajya Sabha opposition leader Ghulam Nabi Azad demanded a probe over leaking of such classified information about the Balakot airstrikes which must be accessible only to a select band of Union ministers and top bureaucrats.

They said the issue will be raised in the upcoming budget session of Parliament starting January 29. Antony said the leaked social media chat shows Goswami was privy to the planned attack on the Balakot camp of the terrorists in PoK 3 days in advance. It risked the security of brave air warriors.
