Operation

-

OPERATION is a fun-filled skill game for all ‘want-to-be-doctors’. This battery-operated game requires little doctors to use their motor skills and hand-eye coordination to remove the ‘ailment’ from the patient’s body.

The board game features the model of a patient nicknamed Sam, lying atop a red, plastic operation table. Sam suffers from various ailments. There are two sets of cards — the specialist cards and the doctor cards. The ‘specialist’ cards are distributed evenly among players while the doctor cards are picked up by turns.

Players aka doctors perform surgeries to remove ‘ailments’ from 12 of Sam’s exposed body cavities. They use a pair of tweezers connected by a wire to the board, to remove the offending body part. A steady hand is extremely necessary as there is hardly any space between the ailing body part and the metal lining. If the metal lining is touched accidentally, the buzzer goes off immediately, lighting up Sam’s nose. In such cases, the doctor doesn’t get any fee and loses his turn. The specialist holding the card for that part then steps in, charging double the fee if he succeeds. The player who collects the most money after all the pieces have been extracted is the winner.
