SC junks UP govt plea challenging bail to Azam Khan's wife, son

NEW DELHI: In a relief to senior Samajwadi Party leader and Lok Sabha MP Mohammad Azam Khan, the SC on Friday declined to entertain an appeal by the Uttar Pradesh government challenging the Allahabad High Court, granting bail to his wife and son, in a case connected with fraudulent allotment of government land. A bench of CJI SA Bobde told Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the UP government, the HC order is a good order and queried, what is wrong with it? "The judgement is correct", said the CJ. Mehta insisted there are cases registered Khan for land grab and other offences.
