Four held with counterfeit currency of 35L in Palghar
MUMBAI: The city crime branch has arrested four persons for allegedly possessing and printing counterfeit currency note worth Rs 35.54 lakh. During the search operation carried at their residences in Palghar, the police have also seized printing materials including, computer, printer, scanner and other materials. According to the police, Manish Shreedhankar, senior inspector of crime branch unit 7, received a specific information that few people would come to Vikhroli area on Republic day with counterfeit currency. Accordingly, they laid a trap at Eastern Express Way and apprehended two persons after their movements were found to be suspicious. During their search, police found counterfeit currency worth Rs 2.8 lakh.
The two led the police to their accomplices in Palghar. Police conducted searches at their houses and seized remaining fake currency worth Rs 32.54 lakh of Rs 2000, Rs 500 Rs 200 and Rs 100 denominations. The arrested accused identified as Mahendra Khandaskar, 50, Abdullah Khan, 24, Farookh Pasha Chaudhary, 33, Amin Usman Shaikh.
