Didi to meet TMC MPs, MLAs on Fri

- ARITRA SINGHA /

Amid the unabated resignation from the ruling Trinamool Congress and defection to the BJP, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will hold a closed-door meeting with all TMC MPs and MLAs on January 29 at her residence in Kalighat.

According to TMC sources, Banerjee is likely to send some strong messages to all the party MPs and the MLAs.

“Mamata Banerjee had already said that the leaders are free to leave the party. Now, it has become a fashion that every day some or the other leaders are either leaving party posts or defecting to the saffron camp. Banerjee will now take stock of the existing leaders,” mentioned the sources.

The sources confirmed that the TMC supremo will also address the difficulties that the leaders are facing within the party as most of them have expressed their dissent that senior leaders are not allowing others to work.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Panchayat & Rural Development minister Subrata Mukherjee will visit Nandigram and take stock of the possibility of Banerjee's victory from Nandigram.

Known to be an astute politician, Subrata had brought Banerjee into light by pitching her as a woman candidate from Jadavpur constituency in the 1984 parliamentary election.
