Two nabbed for stealing gold from wedding hall

The Thane police have arrested two persons for stealing 423 grams of gold worth Rs 17.57 lakh from a wedding function at Ghodbunder Road in Thane. "The accused are identified as Ajaysingh Kondana, 22 and Badal Krishna Sisodiya,

20. An investigat­ion has begun after the police received a complaint of gold theft on December 1," said a police official from Kasarwadav­li police station, Thane. The incident took place on November 30 at Jalsa Lounge, Ghodbunder Road in Thane. The complainan­t, Anita Omveer Singh, in her complaint said that on the day of the wedding of her son at Jalsa lounge, she has kept a bag containing gold on the chairs at the venue. However, after sometime when she returned to get the same, it was disappeare­d from the chair.

"Following the investigat­ion, the accused were traced in Rajgadh district of Madhya Pradesh. The gold lakh was recovered from one of the accused's home, added official.

The Kasarwadav­li police have arrested the accused on January 27 from MP with the help of local police team from Gulkhedi taluka of Rajgadh District.

A case has been registered at Kasarwadav­li police Station against both the accused under section 379 of Indian Penal Code. Further investigat­ion is underway.
