Two nabbed for stealing gold from wedding hall
The Thane police have arrested two persons for stealing 423 grams of gold worth Rs 17.57 lakh from a wedding function at Ghodbunder Road in Thane. "The accused are identified as Ajaysingh Kondana, 22 and Badal Krishna Sisodiya,
20. An investigation has begun after the police received a complaint of gold theft on December 1," said a police official from Kasarwadavli police station, Thane. The incident took place on November 30 at Jalsa Lounge, Ghodbunder Road in Thane. The complainant, Anita Omveer Singh, in her complaint said that on the day of the wedding of her son at Jalsa lounge, she has kept a bag containing gold on the chairs at the venue. However, after sometime when she returned to get the same, it was disappeared from the chair.
"Following the investigation, the accused were traced in Rajgadh district of Madhya Pradesh. The gold lakh was recovered from one of the accused's home, added official.
The Kasarwadavli police have arrested the accused on January 27 from MP with the help of local police team from Gulkhedi taluka of Rajgadh District.
A case has been registered at Kasarwadavli police Station against both the accused under section 379 of Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is underway.
