Why UPSC candidates can’t get another chance, SC asks Centre

-

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Centre as to why one-time relaxation cannot be given to civil services aspirants who could not appear for their last attempt in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic by giving them an extra chance. A bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar, BR Gavai and Krishna Murari asked Additional Solicitor

General SV Raju to apprise it by February 1 on how many candidate would appear if one-time relaxation is given and how many times it has been done since the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) was established. "It's just a one-time relaxation and if it has been done before then why not this time", the bench told Raju.
