MAMATA WILL BE ALONE: SHAH

Takes potshot by saying her only interest is nephew’s progress

- ARITRA SINGHA /

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who had to cancel his two-day West Bengal trip in the wake of an explosion outside the Israel embassy in New Delhi on Friday, addressed a rally scheduled at Dumurjala, virtually.

Taking a potshot at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Shah said she is only worried about making her nephew the next chief minister of West Bengal and also that by the time election comes she will be left alone in Trinamool Congress.

Amidst chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, Shah claimed that if voted to power, BJP in its first cabinet meeting will implement the Prime Minister Health Scheme ‘Ayushman Bharat’ that will give more benefits in comparison to Banerjee’s ‘Swasthya Saathi’ scheme. "People of West Bengal are only seeking a change as anti-TMC slogans are now heard everywhere in the state due to the poor governance of the ruling Trinamool Congress. By the time election comes Mamata Banerjee will be all alone. Only BJP can bring in proper change," mentioned the Union home minister.

The West Bengal BJP had shared a notice stating that a total of 54 leaders, mostly from the Trinamool Congress, had defected to the saffron camp in the last two days.

Slamming the West Minister Chief Minister for not supporting the farmers in the state,

The Union Home Minister claimed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee just submitted the names of the famers for implementing Centre’s Kisan Samman Niddhi and not the bank details of the farmers.

Countering the claims of Shah, TMC minister Chandrima Bhattacharya stated that the BJP has been extremely worried seeing the popularity of the works done by the Trinamool Congress government.

The recently defected leaders from the TMC including former West Bengal forest minister Rajib Banerjee were also present at the rally along with BJP central minister Smriti Irani.

Irani accused the Trinamool government of ‘stealing the basic amenities of people sent by the central government’, Rajib Banerjee urged ‘everyone to silently vote for the BJP in order to build Sonar Bangla’.
