Gill hogs Brad's attention

-

Brad Hogg is of the opinion that rookie Indian opener Shubman Gill has the potential to become one of the best openers in Test cricket over the next ten years. Gill’s batting and maturity impressed many including former cricketers and fans as they hailed the 21-year-old opener as one of the best young talents in the world.

Gill, who made his Test debut in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, scored 259 runs at a brilliant average of 51.80 with two half-centuries against Australia. Hogg also pointed out that Shubman Gill was tested by the short-ball in the Test series but he was prepared to take on the hook shot.

"He (Shubman Gill) has got all the shots in the book. The thing that impressed me here in Australia was that when the Australians tested him with the short ball, he was prepared to take on the hook shot. He is going to be a little bit of a legend and he is going to be one of the best openers that the world sees over the next ten years in Test cricket," Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel.
