State’s first women police band in Bastar

from successfully carrying out anti-Naxal operations, the Bastar police is also effectively working on gender equality within the department. It has constituted the firstever women police band of the state. IGP (Bastar) Sundarraj P told FPJ, “Women commandos of the Bastar police have shown exemplary courage during the anti-Maoist operations, deployment and its effectiveness during the crime investigation matters. We wanted our women colleagues to perform better on the field without any discrimination. Gender equality will be propagated within the force and constitution of Chhattisgarh’s firstever women police band is just another stepping stone in this direction.”
