4,153 of 6,583 health workers get jabs by MBMC in 12 days
A total of 4,153 out of the 6,583 shortlisted beneficiaries have so far been vaccinated in the first twelve designated days (44 sessions) of the Covid-19 immunization drive till Tuesday by the health department of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC).
From 89 percent on day one (January 16) to just 29 percent on Tuesday (February 2), the average of vaccinations hovered a little above 65 percent on the twelfth day.
While the progress in terms of target and achievement per day hovers above 65 percent, an average of 63 percent (4,153 out of the 6,583 beneficiaries) have been immunized so far. With 92 percent coverage, the highest achievement was recorded on 23, January when 277 out of the 300 shortlisted HCW’s were administered the vaccine.
The lowest turnout was recorded 1, February when only 145 out of the 500 expected beneficiaries turned up to take the shot. The low turnout is being attributed to the pulse polio immunization drive, followed by mopup rounds on ensuing days.
According to senior officials in the healthcare department, none of the beneficiaries have reported about any major adverse effects following the vaccination, however, nearly 77 people complained of minor adverse events following immunization involving mild fever, headache and body-pain.
