TMC talks ‘Roti, Kapda aur Makaan’, BJP cries foul

-

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee is using 'Roti, Kapda aur Makan' plank to woo voters and to malign BJP.

Addressing a rally at Alipurduar, Banerjee claimed that the BJP didn’t keep their promise after the parliamentary polls but has taken away the basic rights of the people.

In a scathing attack on the Centre, the TMC supremo said that the BJP didn’t help the migrant workers reach their home during the lockdown but had sent special flights to take the ‘turncoat’ leaders to the national capital for defection.

“Before the Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the central government will reopen the closed gardens but till now they are shut. They initially said of creating Sonar North Bengal but after the elections, their elected representatives didn’t take stock of common people’s well-being,” mentioned Banerjee.

Attacking a new defected BJP leader Rajib Banerjee, she said that the former forest minister had done ‘several misappropriations’ in the forest department and just to get a ‘clean chit’ had defected to the saffron camp. Countering her claims, Rajib Banerjee at a public rally said that since the Chief Minister had ‘opened the Pandora box’, he too will mention all the alleged scams going within the Trinamool Congress. “Now, Mamata Banerjee is talking of Roti, Kapda, aur Makan and gave certificates of pucca houses to the beneficiaries of tea gardens just to woo voters ahead of the polls,” claimed Rajib Banerjee.
