Now, Chauri Chaura in UP school textbooks

LUCKNOW: On the eve of PM Modi inaugurating Chauri Chaura centenary celebrations, the Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath announced to include a chapter on the historic event in school and UP board history textbooks. The CM has directed the secondary education dept and UP Board officials to prepare the draft at the earliest. A chapter on the importance of the Chauri Chaura incident will be included in the syllabus of history textbooks by next session. “Let the younger generation know about the Chauri Chaura incident which changed the course of the freedom struggle. The martyrs of the historical public outcry were never highlighted by previous regimes in the right perspective. Time has come that we recognise their contribution in the country's war for independence,” said the CM.
