SACHIN TENDULKAR GETS ‘BEATEN’

-

Notably, Sachin Tendulkar – known for either maintaining a studious silence or a vexatious politically neutral stance – spoke up for once, underscoring that 'external forces can be spectators but not participants'. "India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let's remain united as a nation," Sachin tweeted.

Strong words. But many did not relish the tweet and hit back at him. Nonetheless, somewhat like his flourishes in the field, the tweet was retweeted close to 88K times, liked over 212K times and elicited close to 41K comments.

One uncharitable comment also brought Rahul Dravid, who is not even on social media, in the line of fire. "Rahul Dravid was right to call you back that day." The cryptic reference was to the incident during the 2004 Multan Test when Dravid was the captain and he declared the innings when Tendulkar was unbeaten on 194. The latter was clearly not happy and nor were his legion of fans. ‘‘So farmers sitting in bitter cold for two months are not Indians? Did you speak for them?’’ Cryptic Mind demanded. Sample these, it was clearly not the Master Batsman's day.

Hypocrisy doesn't need a visa for India. It's a permanent resident!!

He was the one who wanted tax reduction on his property and imported cars. Maybe this time he needs something else from govt...

Sachin has an elbow injury, sad to know it has affected his spine Sachin Tendulkar pontificating that “External forces can be spectators but not participants” is laughable. Is expressing an opinion ‘participation’? If Tendulkar wishes his opinion to be respected, he should stick to cricket and matters he is knowledgeable about.
