THE LINES JAB FOR THOSE ABOVE 50, NOW
India is moving into the third phase of mass vaccination, which will cover 27 crore people aged 50 years and above along with those with co-morbidities.
"In the coming days, 27 crore people who are of above 50 years of age and those under 50 with co-morbidities will be vaccinated," Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan told Lok Sabha on Friday. Until now, nearly five million people have been inoculated thus far. The drive began with healthcare workers being administered the shots first followed by frontline workers. They are estimated to be around three crore.
"It is not possible to give an exact date, but we estimate that this process can start in the second, third or the fourth week of March," PTI quoted Vardhan as saying.
