BJP leader Krishna Hegde joins Shiv Sena
MNS nominee from Vile Parle constituency in the 2019 Assembly election Juilee Shende also joined Shiv Sena
Krishna Hegde, a former Congress member of the legislative assembly (MLA) who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) four years ago, has now shifted his loyalties towards Shiv Sena. On Friday, Hegde, ahead of ensuing elections to the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) slated for 2022, joined Shiv Sena in presence of party president and Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, Transport Minister Anil Parab and Yuva Sena Secretary Varun Sardesai.
Along with Krishna Hegde, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) nominee from Vile Parle constituency in the 2019 assembly election, Juilee Shende, has also joined Shiv Sena.
Sena’s decision to induct Hegde, who was the vice president of the Mumbai BJP unit, in the party fold is aimed to checkmate BJP, which has already launched Mission Mumbai 2022 with a resolve to unseat Shiv Sena and grab the Mayor’s post in BMC.
“I was impressed by Uddhav Thackeray ji's handling of the COVID-19 crises and how he guided Maharashtra in a difficult time. I will work hard for Shiv Sena and ensure that the saffron flag flies over BMC headquarters yet again,"
