Lone SSS activist protests outside Tendulkar's house

Mumbai

- SANJAY JOG/

After Youth Congress workers poured black oil and ink over Sachin Tendulkar's cut-out in Kerala's Kochi on Saturday, a lone activist of the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) protested outside the cricketing legend's house in Mumbai on Monday.

A poster in Marathi read: "Sachin amchya shetkari bapasathi kadhi tweet karshil (Sachin when will you tweet for our farmers?''

SSS activist Ranjit Bagal said he staged an agitation in a non-violent manner by displaying a poster. He further added that he simply asked one question when the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar took out time to tweet for farmers who are protesting for over 70 days. He noted that despite going through several hardships the farmers work hard to produce foodgrains for the country.

This comes in the wake of Tendulkar's tweet in support of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government's fight against "international propaganda" with respect to the ongoing farmers' protest against the Centre's contentious three farm laws at the borders of Delhi.
