Kopana FC romp home with much to spare

Kopana FC proved too good for Britacel FC and romped to a fluent 3-0 victory in a Group-D match of the Soccerstar Premier League, powered by Rudra FC and played under the auspices of the MDFA at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Sunday.

Showing better understand­ing Kopana FC worked well as a unit and dictated play from the start. Strikers Noel Plavila, Mitesh Suryavansh­i and Pawan Mangela all struck a goal each to complete the win. Hardworkin­g Ajinkya Mangela was adjudged ‘Player of the match’.

In other matches of the same group, FC Mumbaikars also enjoyed an easy outing as they rallied to overcome BBFC by a 3-1 margin. Amaan Shaikh stunned the FC Mumbaikar citadel with a strike in the very second minute. But, FC Mumbaikar’s regrouped and came back strongly netting three goals to emerge victors. Saurav Krishnan scored the equalizer in the 14th minute before Sumit Naik scored in the 40th minute to give Mumbaikar’s the lead. Jeffery Pereira increased the lead in injury time to secure their victory. Earlier, Shubham Mane and Egypsio Noronha scored a goal each on either side of the break to guide Atlanta FC to a smooth 2-0 win against Mumbai Strikers (Orange).
