Minister of State for Home Satej Patil tests positive for Covid-19

The Minister of State for Home Satej Patil on Tuesday afternoon said that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Taking to Twitter, the Congress MLA said he does not have any symptoms. However, he is undergoing treatment as per the doctor's advice.

"I have tested positive for Covid-19 today. I do not have any symptoms and I am undergoing treatment as per the doctor's advice. With your prayers & blessings, I am confident I will soon be alright," he tweeted. Patil is the Kolhapur district guardian minister and he has been extensivel­y travelling across the state.

Patil’s boss and cabinet minister Anil Deshmukh had tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday. Patil is the 16th minister who is detected positive.

Earlier, many Maharashtr­a ministers have tested positive for Covid-19 and have recovered. Prajakt Tanpure, Sunil Kedar, Balasaheb Patil, Jitendra Awhad, Ashok Chavan, Dhananjay Munde, Aslam Shaikh, Abdul Sattar, Sanjay Bansode, and Dadaji Bhuse are some of the ministers in Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's Cabinet to have tested positive.
