4 injured at a cylinder blast in Versova

MUMBAI: As many as four persons have been injured so far at a cylinder blast incident at Yari Road, Versova. The blast occurred at around 9:45 am at a cylinder gas godown in this area.

The injured have been identified as - Rakesh Kadu (30), Laxman Kumvat (24), Manjit Khan (20), and Mukesh Kumvat (30). According to the sources in Brihanmumb­ai Municipal Corporatio­n (BMC), Rakesh and Laxman have sustained 40 per cent burns and Manjit and Mukesh have sustained 60 per cent burns.

The injured have been admitted to Cooper Hospital, Juhu and presently they are being treated.

According to the fire officials, the injured are daily wage workers who used to work in one of the godowns in the building.
