Police Shield cricket from February 13

Leading cricketers will be seen in action during the 73rd Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 20202021, which is scheduled to commence from Saturday, February 13, 2021. This prestigiou­s tournament, sponsored by the D.Y. Patil Group, Navi Mumbai and organized under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Associatio­n (MCA), will be the first cricket competitio­n in the city since the lockdown due the Covid-19 pandemic.

This year the matches will be played on a limited 45 overs format.

A total of 16 teams, including a Sponsors XI (DY Patil Group), will be vying for the top honours in this competitio­n. Besides defending champions MIG CC and runners-up Parkophene Cricketers the other teams that will be participat­ing are Parsee Gymkhana, Islam Gymkhana, D.Y. Patil SA, Mumbai Police Gymkhana, Bombay Gymkhana, Cricket Club of India, P.J. Hindu Gymkhana, New Hind Sporting Club, National CC, Karnatak SA, Shivaji Park Gymkhana, Payyade SC, and MCA Colts.

The teams have been divided into four groups. The top team from each group will qualify for the semi-finals on February 21 and the grand finale on February 28.

All the Matches will be played as per the New Model Rules of the MCA.
