Western Railway runs 891 parcel special trains till date to keep the supply moving

Western Railway's parcel special trains are traversing across the countr y to keep the supply of essential commodities moving & it has run 891 parcel special trains since lockdown till date. In continuation to this, on 12th Februar y, 2021 two parcel special trains departed from WR viz. Bandra Terminus to Jammu Tawi and Rajkot to Coimbatore. It is worth mentioning that upto 11th Feb, 2021 in the current year, freight loading has been 69.36 MT as compared to 68.02 MT last year. According to Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, since 23rd March, 2020 to 11th Feb, 2021, commodities weighing approx. 2.56 lakh tonnes have been transported by Western Rly through its 891 parcel special trains.
