Cold comfort

-

Ref.: ‘Spike, yes, but cases less severe' (February 17) is cold comfort, as the increasing number of corona cases is a danger signal in itself. After the vaccination drive has begun and the unlocking has happened, people have cast away their safety instincts. Masks and sanitisers have become things of the past and public places are teeming with crowds. There are fewer medical facilities now, private hospitals say they have not allocated beds for corona patients. In short, we are not prepared for a second wave in any manner.
