Foreigner held with heroin worth ₹ 9 cr

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested a 30-year-old South African woman with heroin worth Rs 9 crore at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). On a tipoff, a team of NCB sleuths led by zonal director Sameer Wankhede seized 2.960 kg heroin and 10,000 South African Rand from Khanyisile Promise Khalishwayo on Thursday. She reached Mumbai from Johannesburg via Doha. "She was promised Rs 1 lakh for the deliver y. During search of her bag, three packets of heroin were found in the bag. We are investigating who was to collect the contraband from her," said a senior officer.
