Partisan tool?
Ref.: ‘Kiran Bedi gets her comeuppance at last’ (February 18). It took close to five years to get rid of Puducherry’s Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi. Her role made one believe that she was not a constitutional head but an active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She was needed to frustrate the elected government and now that the job is done, the party decided to get rid of her. The trend of the ruling party using governors to play partisan politics is still going strong in Kerala, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.
