Punjab Kings rope in Shahrukh Khan

-

Shahrukh Khan triggered a bidding war between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals as he went up from a base price of Rs 20 lakh before Rajashtan Royals got him at Rs 5.25 crore.

Punjab Kings who were certainly in the need of a big-hitter in the middle-order have shown confidence in the uncapped Tamil Nadu batsman, known for his power-hitting ability.

Shahrukh Khan is a 25year-old big-hitting batsman who comes from Chennai. Known for getting those quickfire 30s and 40s in the lower-middle order, Shahrukh Khan made a name for himself in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

Shahrukh Khan was reportedly named after the Bollywood superstar and he was a swimming champion at the junior level as well.

Shahrukh Khan made headlines as early as 2012. He shone in the inaugural edition of the junior Chennai Super Kings tournament, a talent hunt event conducted by the 3-time champions.

Shahrukh made his T20 debut at the age of 18 for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2018. The promising talent made a fantastic debut as he hit 21 from just 8 balls on his debut against Goa but he played only 4 more matches in the tournament, managing just 31 runs.
