Two get bail in bus driver assault case

MUMBAI: A Dindoshi sessions court while granting bail to two men - an auto-driver and a 23year-old on Wednesday in a case of assaulting a bus driver during a quarrel that broke out on road, said that the coronaviru­s cases are rising in the city and jail is not an exception and hence their detention cannot be justified. Arpint Singh, a Santacruz resident, and Farhan Sayyed, an auto driver had sought bail after being arrested on February 5. The complaint was lodged by bus conductor Prasad Talekar after a scuffle broke out the previous day around 11 PM. The informant claimed that as the bus was obstructed by the duo who also abused and physically assaulted the bus driver Shashikant Magar. Additional Sessions Judge AZ Khan said in his order that the incident took place on a narrow road due to heavy traffic and such heated incidents can take place in such circumstan­ces.
