Court grants 14-day remand of Unnao double murder accused

The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Saturday sent the two accused in the double murder of dalit girls in Unnao to to a 14-day police remand. The arrested youths, Deep Sagar alias Vinay nee Lamboo and minor Raju, were produced before the CJM Unnao Court on Saturday. The Unnao police had filed a plea before the court for a 14-day remand for probe to complete the probe in the case for filing the charge-sheet.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the CJM Court granted 14-day remand to the Unnao police. The two have been taken to some unknown destinatio­n for interrogat­ion.

CM Yogi Adityanath has announced Rs5 lakh each to the family of girls killed. The government has also promised to give land on lease to the Dalit family. Yogi sent Mohanlalga­nj BJP MP Kaushal Kishore to Baburaha village to meet the family and convey his message the government will ensure the case was tried in a fast-track court and accused gets stringent punishment.
