Court grants 14-day remand of Unnao double murder accused
The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Saturday sent the two accused in the double murder of dalit girls in Unnao to to a 14-day police remand. The arrested youths, Deep Sagar alias Vinay nee Lamboo and minor Raju, were produced before the CJM Unnao Court on Saturday. The Unnao police had filed a plea before the court for a 14-day remand for probe to complete the probe in the case for filing the charge-sheet.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the CJM Court granted 14-day remand to the Unnao police. The two have been taken to some unknown destination for interrogation.
CM Yogi Adityanath has announced Rs5 lakh each to the family of girls killed. The government has also promised to give land on lease to the Dalit family. Yogi sent Mohanlalganj BJP MP Kaushal Kishore to Baburaha village to meet the family and convey his message the government will ensure the case was tried in a fast-track court and accused gets stringent punishment.
