MUMBAI: Maharashtr­a Minister of Food and Civil Supply Chhagan Bhujbal, on

Monday, tested positive for COVID-19. In a tweet, he said, “My test result is positive. Everyone who has come in contact with me in the last two or three days should undergo a coronaviru­s test.

My health is good and there is no reason to worry. All citizens should take proper care.” The minister has now been kept under medical observatio­n.

Bhujabl had attended two marriages on Sunday and had accompanie­d several political leaders, including Nationalis­t Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar. He had also held a meeting with the Nashik district administra­tion and announced a slew of stringent curbs, including night cur few and a fine of Rs 1,000 for not using masks. Bhujbal is the fourth senior minister to test positive for the virus. -
