YOGI GOVT TABLES ` 5.5L-CR BUDGET
The Yogi Adityanath government tabled the first paperless budget for a whopping Rs5.5-lakh crore (Rs5,50,270.78 crore to be exact), the largest-ever budget in the Uttar Pradesh history. The budget, the fifth and last of the Yogi government, is Rs38,000 crore or 7.3% higher than the last budget of Rs5.12-lakh crore for 2020-2021. Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna opened the government’s kitty for farmers, women and youths, and made huge budgetary provisions for the ongoing development projects, construction of expressways, metros, airports and development of Ayodhya, Varanasi, Chitrakoot and other tourist destinations. Besides, the focus of the budget was on for bijli, sadak, paani and makaan (power, roads, water and houses) ahead of the 2022 poll.
