SC: Some people ruining, perverting education system

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday cited Madhya Pradesh’s multi-crore Vyapam scam as it heard the Karnataka government plea challenging the bail granted to the main accused in the PU question paper leak case registered in 2016.

A bench, headed by CJI SA Bobde and comprising Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian, said: "We want to send a message. These people are ruining the education system. We know what happened in MP in the Vyapam case, in Bihar. We are coming across cases where the education system is being distorted and perverted.” The Karnataka govt had moved SC challenging the HC order granting bail to Shivakumaraiah alias Guruji and the discharge of another accused. Guruji is the prime accused in the question paper leak of Nov 2018 constabulary exams and 2016 PU paper leak.
