Ref.: ‘Outed in Puducherry, Congress loses toehold beyond Vindhyas’

(February 23). By losing Puducherry, the Congress has lost its sole representation in south India. Losing a state is a routine thing in politics but what should shake the grand old party completely is the fact that it has lost a second state after winning it and losing it just before the five-year term ended. The Congress should have sacrificed Narayanaswamy for the larger good of the party remaining in power. But such is the sad state of affairs at the helm that they don't take strategic calls and allow sycophancy to prevail. Bal Govind
