Blunder & boycott makes polls cakewalk for BJP’s Dinesh Jain

BHAYANDAR: A clerical blunder by the members of the rival faction, coupled by a not needed boycott by Shiv Sena corporators, made the process to elect the chairperson of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation’s ( MBMC) coveted standing committee a cakewalk for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which single handedly rules the civic body. Putting to rest all speculations that the opposition would spring up a surprise, BJP successfully managed to retain the chairmanship of the standing committee, as Dinesh Jain was elected unopposed to the post. The election was held under the aegis of Mumbai suburb collector Milind Borikar. -
