Bosch plans to make dishwashers in India
With a spike in demand for dishwashers globally due to the pandemic and supplies becoming an issue, BSH Household Appliances - a part of German technology and services major, Bosch group - is planning to start manufacturing the appliance in India, a top company official said.
The group, which plans to invest 100 million euros (over Rs 870 crore) on its home appliances segment over next 34 years towards personalising solutions, brand building, strengthening technology center and user experience studies, and magnifying India's role globally, is also looking to start manufacturing top load washing machines in India as well.
"Dishwasher is a product which actually put us back in business after zero turnover in April. We were already a market leader....we enjoy more than 55-60 per cent market share in this segment and this is a very very nascent and small segment in India," BSH Household MD and CEO Neeraj Bahl said.
