15-yr-old gangraped, knifed in UP
A girl was allegedly gangraped by four people in the Mankapur area of Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh. The accused attacked her with knife when she tried to resist the sexual assault.
The 15-year-old girl, studying in Class X, was coming back home from school on her bicycle on Tuesday afternoon when four people dragged her to the sugarcane field near a farm house and raped her. They attacked the girl with a knife when she tried to resist their move. Later, she was left there with a threat to eliminate her and her family if she revealed anything about the crime.
The girl's father lodged a complaint at Mankapur police station on Tuesday night. A police team visited the crime scene on Wednesday morning.
Superintendent of Police SK Pandey said that a case has been registered against one Khaderu and three others under Sections 324, 323, 376D, 506 and POCSO Act on the complaint of the girl’s father. The SP said the girl’s family had some dispute with the person named in the FIR.
17-year-old dies 2 days after gangrape
A 17-year-old girl, who was allegedly gangraped two days ago in a village in Hamirpur in UP, died on Wednesday while she was being taken to a hospital, police said. The teenager was undergoing treatment in the village in Maudaha area but her condition started deteriorating on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar Singh said.
She was being taken to a community health centre from the village when she died, he added.
Meanwhile, the Circle Officer said the victim's family did not report the incident and that the police came to know about it only after the teenager's death. "We are waiting for the post-mortem report, and the matter is being probed," she added.
Set on fire after gangrape attempt
A college student who was found lying without clothes and severely burnt along a national highway in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district has claimed she was set on fire after a failed attempt to gangrape her, police said on Wednesday.
According to SP S Anand, the girl told investigators that three people tried to rape her in a field near Rai Kheda village on Monday and when they did not succeed, they poured kerosene and set her on fire. The police officer, however, added that she frequently changed her statements.
11-year-old raped in Banda
An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle in a village here, following which the accused was arrested, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Monday night in UP's Banda when Shubham reached the girl's house and later took her to a secluded place and raped her, SHO Jaishyam Shukla said. An FIR into the matter was registered and the accused was arrested, police added. 14-yr-old drugged, raped by 7 in Kerala A teenaged student has allegedly been raped by seven people after befriending her through instagram in Malappuram district of Kerala, police said on Wednesday.
Two of the accused allegedly gave her narcotics like ganja to the 14-year-old before sexually assaulting her, the police said. While the two accused have been arrested, investigation is on to trace other culprits, they said.
